Hello! My name is “Gypsy Jane”. I am a scarecrow, currently residing at the Manson Community Library. I will tell you a little about myself and how I ended up at this cute little library in Manson, WA.Now, I won’t tell you my exact age, but I’m nearly 100 years old!! My brother Dick and were kind of famous beginning in the 1930’s and by 1955 over 80% of first graders in the United States were reading the books we were featured in. Our dog, Spot, and little sister Sally were often part of our stories. Many kids learned to read through our adventures. It was a wonderful way to grow up and in 1965 we decided to retire, and we all went our separate ways.I wanted to travel the world, so I became a gypsy! I now spend my time in magical places, such as the village of Manson, to learn about the people that live there. I gather fun facts, research my next stop (I do my best research in libraries!), and then move on. It’s a wonderful life that I have.I never know how long I’ll be in one place, so please stop by the Manson Community Library and visit me! I would love you to tell me your story, now that you know mine!

J-Rock was a superstar rockstar back in the 1980's. He grew up in Manson, and after his career finished he moved back. He bought a small apple orchard and worked the land. Little did he know that the barn on his property was haunted. His lifeless body was found in his barn on his favorite tractor with the words "this is my land" scratched into the wood flooring. Everyone knew that the ghost of farmer Franklin had done it!

Billy was his poppa's son, when he hit the ground he was on the run (well kinda)

Some say he is a shy ghoulish mop ,others say he is Billy ZZ Crop, capable of rattling your bones with a single touch. Making you scream have mercy.

Many say Billy wasn’t always a monster made from Texas spam,Others say he was even known as the sharp dressed man.

Most unsuspecting Halloweeners don't realize that Billy ZZ Crop isn't just local to the hill and Wine Garden Lane,He's Bad and He’s Nationwide. So on this Halloween, when you walk through the vines on the hill, be careful, don’t look at the lantern as it passes. The only way to ward off the soul bending, bone rattling scare, is to wear some cheap sunglasses!

In a little town, there stood a colorful arcade filled with laughter and flashing lights. Outside the whirring games, Headless Harriet kept watch, her pumpkin head resting on the neon blue table. Harriet had once been the heart of the arcade, and now she served as a beloved mascot, her quirky charm drawing in children and families alike.

Every Halloween, kids whispered tales of Harriet’s magic. They claimed that if you placed a coin near her pumpkin head, you could hear the distant sounds of classic arcade games, even while the machines hummed inside. One year, a brave boy decided to test the legend. He carefully placed a shiny quarter beside the pumpkin. Suddenly, the lights flickered inside, and the pinball machine lit up, launching a ball as if by magic.

From that night on, the kids treated Harriet as their guardian. Each Halloween, they left tokens beside her pumpkin head, celebrating their whimsical protector of fun and nostalgia.
